16X20 (oil on canvas) Spring brings vibrant greens to the central coast. Here the full moon dreams of green as it slowly reaches its zenith.

16X20 (oil on canvas) 2018 I made this painting an hour before being engulfed in a rainstorm. This painting is looking down the Virgin River, just before The Narrows, and beneath the high rise trail of Angel's Landing.

12X20 (oil on canvas) The small town of Hanksville was once the supply roost for infamous gunslingers like Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch who would hide out at Robber's Roost. Now tourism drives the small population. I caught this view leaving Hanksville heading for Capitol Reef. The contrast between the cool blue shadows against the warm red cliff-line beckoned an urgent paint stop.

16x20 (oil on canvas) Snow has never been a staple during my upbringing. As life long surfer, winter in California has always meant sticking to the coast for surf. This was my first painting ever made in the snow. A snow STORM to be exact. It was cold, windy, and invigorating to be painting out in the elements.

SOLD 20X16 (oil on canvas) This morning the wild mustered was in full effect. Keep your eyes peeled for this thriving invasive species along the Gaviota coastline. Often in full bloom early to mid spring, the intensive amount of yellow hues this flower radiates is truly something to see.

16X24 (oil on canvas) The colors of this Aspen mountainside caused an emergency paint stop. From a hotel parking lot I focused on the relationship between the warm snow, Aspen Trees, and towering pines.

16X20 (oil on canvas) If you've never made it out to Pinnacles National Park I highly recommend it. The park is filled with awesome trailheads, rock formations, and wildlife. It's also home to a family of California Condors that you can see riding the warm afternoon thermals. I painted this one early in the morning and split for the camp pool before temperatures reached 113 in the afternoon!

SOLD 24X12 (oil on canvas) Arroyo Hondo is a 782 acre preserve just north of Refugio along the Gaviota Coast. This watershed is home to numerous species of birds, amphibians, larger mammals, along with a wide array of both endemic and introduced species of plants. SOLD 24x 8.5 (oil on canvas) On my way home from Figueroa Mt. I couldn't help but stop for a final painting. I used my car as a bunker and studied the sway of grass as the brisk evening wind blew through it.

16x12 (oil on canvas board) Eucalyptus aren't indigenous to California but they sure can be fun to paint.

SOLD 9x12 (oil) This painting is a study of light. When evening light suffuses the atmosphere, the local mountains and hills can take on amazing colors. Here I captured the pink alpenglow on the Goleta foothills of the Los Padres Mtns.

10X12 (oil on canvas) The view from Broadcast peak looking back towards the San Raphael Mountain range. I quickly started mixing colors as the foreground became illuminated against the cool background.

12x6 (oil) Castroville is the Artichoke Capital of the world. If I come to revisit this location in 6 months, artichokes will bed the foreground.

SOLD 24x12 (oil) I painted this at the top of West Camino Cielo, looking West. I was captivated by the high visibility allowing me to see all the way to Pt. Conception.
